Old Shotts

Our book on Shotts has been a huge hit with the local population, with all the town's newsagents (along with one in neighbouring Stane) ordering piles of copies. It includes pictures of the Miners' Welfare Institute, the Salon dance hall, a dramatic railway accident, St Patrick's brass band, Shotts Ironworks, Hartwood Hospital, Salsburgh, Stane, and the impressive Newhouse Hotel, a big art deco hotel and service station that was built next to the A8 Glasgow-Edinburgh road.
