Old Nairn

Old Nairn features some wonderful photographs such as those of local worthies 'Big Gran' and 'Jocky Breekie'. Of particular interest is the excellent snap of a packed public hall at the start of a bazaar in 1923 - those of a certain age may be able to recognise a relative. The development of the harbour is featured in addition to photographs of Zulu fishing boats and the ceremony commemorating Nairn's first lifeboat. Also included are pictures of the old salt water swimming baths, the Nairn Show, Cawder Castle and the old mill.
