Old Markinch

In addition to Markinch, this book also includes Milton of Balgonie, Coaltown of Balgonie, Balgonie Colliery, Dixon's Paper Mill, Auchmuty, Cadham, Preston Hall and Sythrum Mill. Together these make up about half the book with the rest devoted to the town and including some stunning photos. Overall this is a nicely balanced collection reflecting life and industry in the Markinch area in the first decades of the twentieth century.
