Old Castle Douglas

Pictures of curling on Carlingwark Loch, and more surprisingly, circus elephants watering themselves in the loch during warmer summer weather, are two of the more unusual pictures in Old Castle Douglas. The town's main streets and sights are included too, along with pictures of the aftermath of fires at the old town hall and in a parade of shops and flats in King Street. Penman's garage, military camps at Caigton, Wallet's auction mart, troops departing from the station to fight in the First World War and the Palace cinema are also included.
