Animals Under Logs and Stones
Logs and stones provide an interesting interface between damp soil and dry open air. The animals that live there cover a wide range of groups and have equally wide ranging ways of coping with the environment in which they have chosen to live. These animals have been termed 'cryptozoa' ('hidden' animals). This book does not cover animals found on the sea shore or in very wet places.
