Lepidoptera Pupae
This treatise covers the pupae of more than 2500 species of Central European Lepidoptera, and hence comprises a sizable proportion of other European faunas (the NW. European in particular) as well. It summarizes decades of painstaking work made by Dr Jan Patocka and his co-workers on the basis of material obtained through their own rearings, and supplemented with specimens obtained from several Central European museums, as well as from numerous individual lepidopterists. Previous results from this research programme have been presented in a very large number of articles dealing with individual (usually familygroup) taxa; these papers have appeared in a variety of C. European journals and have consistently been published in German. There has been a growing demand for having all of this scattered material brought together and to have it made available in English. This is the only volume in print covering the majority of lepidoptera pupa found in europe. Text is in ENGLISH.
