Caterpillars of the British Isles

For the first time in over one hundred years, a comprehensive illustrated guide to the caterpillars of British butterflies and macro moths has been produced to complement Bernard Skinner's Colour Identification Guide to Moths of the British Isles (Viking, 1988). It illustrates over 850 different species, all photographed in natural situations upon the relevant foodplants, including many varieties indigenous to continental Europe. Many have never been illustrated before, either by artwork or by photography. This work has received unreserved support from the best and most competent entomologists, and will become an on-going project to enhance our knowledge of the early stages of this most popular group of insects.
