Broad Nosed Weevils

An introduction is given to the broad-nosed weevils, defined as the subfamily Entiminae of the family Curculionidae. The biology, life history and phenology, economic importance and conservation of species in the group are briefly considered. A check list of the species is provided.

Illustrated keys are given to the tribes of Entiminae and to genera and species in them. The entry for each species includes information on its biology, larval hostplants where known, a brief account of its distribution in the British Isles, and summary of its zoogeographic range. 'Red Data Book species' are indicated.
