The British Caddisflies

This book fills a gap in the literature of Entomology in which there is no text-book still in print dealing with the Order of the Trichoptera or Caddis Flies. It is not an exhaustive monograph but rather a handbook by means of which collectors may identify their captures and thereby complete a knowledge of the fauna of their districts. The classification of the Trichoptera is based on neuration and the structure of the genitalia rather than on wing-markings, and consequently the author has relied upon figures of those characters, numbering no fewer than 633, with three plates, reproduced from photographs from nature.

Chapters are included on Life History, Structure, Classification and Collecting.
