This is a thrilling history and a detailed survey of the equipment and vessels of the Schnellbootes - the fast boat flotillas of the German Kriegsmarine during World War Two. The S-Bootes, true sea corsairs, were charged with the harassment and torpedoing of allied convoys which were approaching too close to the Normandy and Mediterranean coasts. It is illustrated with 300 rare and previously unpublished wartime photographs, plus 50 specially commissioned colour plates.
