Old Kilmacolm and Bridge of Weir

Contains pictures of the Cross, Hydropathic Hotel, Lochwinnoch Road, Station Road, Pacemuir Mill and the very elegant outdoor swimming pool at Balrossie School in Kilmacolm. There are fascinating pictures of the nearby Quarrier's Homes, including great interior shots showing dinner time in one of the cottages, and the mock-up shops where the orphans could learn work skills. Like Kilmacolm, Bridge of Weir is known for being a well-to-do commuter village, and its tidy Main Street is shown alongside pictures of the golf club house and elegant Edwardians out for a stroll along Horsewood Road. The Ranfurly Hotel, Gryffe Viaduct, and Gryffe Tannery buildings are amongst the other pictures included.
