Old Thornliebank

Thornliebank mushroomed in the early nineteenth century after the influential Crum family bought a nearby printfield and cotton mill in the 1780s. The family rapidly expanded their textile weaving and printing empire, building much of the village and employing most of its residents. This collection of photographs includes well-known landmarks such as the former Andersons Garage, the printworks, Cochrane's grocers, Campsie Terrace, Eastwood Crescent and the Queen Mary Tea Gardens, along with pictures of Spiersbridge and Rouken Glen.
