Old Edinburgh - views from above

This collection of photographs dating from 1930 are among the earliest aerial views of the city ever taken. Lost for over fifty years, they are published here for the first time and have been meticulously researched by the author. Each image is accompanied by a detailed description, giving many facts and figures to create a portrait of the city as it was when the heaviest traffic was caused by trams and many of the suburbs we know today were at that time just green fields or the sites of long-gone factories and breweries.
