The Upper Glenkens

This complements our other book on the Glen Kens, The Ken Valley, and includes pictures of Carsphairn, Dalry, Balmaclellan and several pictures of the Galloway hydroelectric scheme under construction in the 1930s. Auntie Ann at her spinning wheel in Carsphairn, a magnificent horse-drawn carriage at the door of the Lochinvar Hotel, Roger Dunn's gravestone and the unfortunate story behind his death, plus a view of the Tinkler's Loup before it was submerged are some of the many items featured. You can see salmon leaping up Earlstoun Linn, as well as pictures of the high-tech ladder that was built at Earlstoun when the water level was raised.
