Old Largs
Nardini's and the old Moorings building are two of Largs instantly-recognisable landmarks, but Bob and Maureen McSherry have included loads of more unusual views of the town in their book too. There's the naval destroyer that ran aground in March 1914 and a rather sad picture of a dancing bear, not attracting many onlookers on a rainy day. Pictures of the 1910 floods show the makeshift log bridge that temporarily replaced its more sturdy counterpart over the Gogo Water, and a very waterlogged Main Street. Many other locations are featured too.
