Antique Lace Patterns

The earliest laces were made with geometric designs; but as needle and bobbin lace technique became more sophisticated, flowers and foliage became important motifs, with their flowing curves adapting easily to lace design. Among the patterns of Brussels, Flanders, Italy, France, Holland and England authentically drawn by the author are Antwerp Potten Kant, bobbin lace, Brussels lace, dentelle, reticella, Venise point and others.
