Welsh Cattle Drovers

This is the revised and updated 2nd edition published in 2006.The book tells the history of the transportation of Livestock from Wales into English towns and cities until the mid 1800s. This is not just a story about the movement of cattle. Towns grew up along the drovers' roads. The practice of buying cattle and selling them on delivery, was a safe way of moving money about. One drover set up the Black Ox Bank which Lloyds bought about 80 years ago.
