Masterpieces of Art Nouveau Stained Glass Design

The curvilinear designs of Art Nouveau-popular at the turn of the century-were especially well-suited to the decorative arts. Characterized by long, leafy tendrils, full-blown florals and languid ladies, the style lent itself especially to the medium of stained glass. This handsome collection reproduces the colorful and imaginative stained glass designs of Arnold Lyongrun, a German-born artist of the day whose work was noted for inventiveness in form and color and a winning sense of humor.

Thirty-two full-color plates represent some of the most vivid examples of the artist's work. Reproduced directly from an extremely rare original edition of Vorbilder fur Kunstverglasungen im Style der Neuzeit, 91 magnificent copyright-free motifs include lovely floral and foliate designs, graceful female figures in flowing robes, pastoral landscapes, seascapes dominated by billowing sails and humorous depictions of animals, and much more.
