Druid Tokens
From the introduction
The comprehensive catalogue of eighteenth century trade tokens by Richard Dalton and Samuel Hamer between 1910 and 1917 has produced the main reference book to the subject. However, the amount of background material available to those eminent gentlemen was limited, mainly by time and distance, to earlier writings, notwithstanding the enormity of such a task. In 1954 Arthur W Waters of Royal Leamington Spa wrote his Supplementary and explanatory notes (which formed part of the title of Waters' work) on the Dalton and Hamer work. His comments and observations greatly added to the sum of knowledge about the series and many gaps were filled.......This study of Matthew Boulton's papers has revealed the history of trade tokens minted in Birmingham in the late 18th centuries for use in Anglesey.
